  • I'm Tanner Luke Christensen, a downtown Phoenix-based artist and muralist. I am a full time professor of landscape architecture at ASU and find much of my art is influenced by the natural desert environment. As a native Phoenician, much of my inspiration comes from my deep seeded roots in the American Southwest and my love for traditional western and Mexican art. My work is generally defined by vibrant and simplified compositions, making them easily visually digestible.

  • Desert Dogs

This mural highlights the natural beauty, bold shapes, and vibrant colors of the desert we call home. Set beneath a starlit sky, it serves as a reminder of the vast nightscape we often lose to the pollution of our city lights. Two desert dogs stand as familiar figures of the Arizona landscape, their howls echoing across the valley, a sound both eerie and iconic.

    Cowgirl

Sometimes, random ideas pop into my head, and this was one of those moments. Humor often plays a role in my art, bringing a lighthearted touch even in challenging times. With everything going on in the world we could all use a little laughter. This mural delivers just that, a dose of humor wrapped in the form of a cute, sad clown.
