I moved to Arizona to chase my dream of becoming an artist. I came here at 19 with no friends or family, just me and my dog. I make art because it’s the one way I’m able to express myself and have a deeper understanding of my emotions. Creating makes me feel normal. If I can have someone look at my art and either get inspired or feel like someone else understands how they feel, then I completed what I needed to do.

No Swimming
This mural shows a Hispanic woman on a motorcycle in front of a “No Swimming” sign. She’s faceless because it’s not about her looks – it’s about what she’s doing. Lifting her shirt with a carefree vibe, she shows she doesn’t care about the rules. The artist, also Hispanic, wanted to capture the spirit of breaking the rules and living life on your own terms. It’s about being bold enough to take a risk, live the life you want to live, and not the one society tells you you should.
