  • The flow of Creation: Phoenix’s Passage of Time

This mural honors my ancestors the Hohokum and the canal system that ran through what is now Phoenix (Ohn Akimel O’Odham Jeved) the canal system was eventually dammed up due to the impacts of colonization. The waves in my mural represent the Salt River. The butterfly symbolizes migration flying to the second panel. Where I have two hands representing the working hands of our Farm Workers that feed us to our hard working migrants. The last panel is Phoenix as we know it today.
